    Being Mindful; Being Well

How being mindful can enhance our physical and mental wellbeing.

When we choose to pay attention in a particular way, with intention and without judgement, we’re being mindful. When we do, we build our capacity to be fully present, in touch with ourselves every moment, and better able to be fully connected to each other and the world around us. Research demonstrates that mindfulness can enhance our mental and physical wellbeing in profound ways. In this interactive workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn more about mindfulness, experience a few simple practices they can do anytime, and explore practical ways of making mindful choices in their daily lives.

    Presenter:               Michelle Lane:  CPCC, CLCP

Michelle is a leadership coach and a facilitator with a passion for creating opportunities for others to thrive in increasingly complex times. Through her own business, Vibrant Leaders, she helps leaders and groups discover what is possible, while creating vibrant futures for themselves, and the people and organizations they serve. Michelle’s own life and work continue to be informed by a deep commitment to whole life wellness and wellbeing, including mindfulness and mind-body fitness practices.  http://vibrantleaders.ca

The purpose of Matters that Matter to Seniors and their Families is to explore, discuss and apply practices that promote health and well-being for seniors with the aim of providing useful information, skills and support that increase our capacity and capability to live a healthy and engaged life. A FREE LUNCH is provided at the end of each of the morning sessions.

  • How to have a perfect car transport done

      Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 02:00 PM
      USA in dallas, AR

Are you finding the different options to move your car from one side of the country particularly if you have never had done it before. It is easy to become overwhelmed by various details and concerns and cost of the driving car yourself? Is it very expensive to hire a professional car transport service? Which option is better for you and your car?

    packers and movers in Chandigarh

At first, do not concern too much. You are certainly not the first person to feel confused. There are several reasons when people need to move their car from one location t another and there are several factors that should be considered every time. Every situation is different because of different reasons, cars, route required to take these will be slightly different. While a professional transport broker may embrace the challenge of these details, it unlikely means that it is sometimes challenging for peoples to find solid and simple answers about what to expect from the process and budget required.

With professional car bike transportation in Ludhiana, you will definitely feel it easy to move your vehicle to any part of the country. You receive helpful options to make the decision of getting your car where you want it to go or trying to undertake the long trip on your own.

What is costlier – shipping a car or driving it on my own?

It is certainly more surprising to heat however not more usual, hiring professional auto transfer service to move your car will save your more money as compare to driving it yourself. The direct cost of fuel alone for long distance journey can increase the cost significantly. And that’s not even making the whole costs of paying for lodging and meals you need on the way. The total of whole expenses may much surpass the amount you need to pay to transport your car by an expert.

    packers and movers in Ludhiana

The way your car is moved depends on your requirement. The mover offers an auto transport through open carrier that is usually better choice or an enclosed transport method that offers high value, classic or custom vehicles that should be protected from external elements. You will have a choice between their convenient door to door pickup and delivery service or their terminal to terminal option, one of which is confirmed to fit in your busy schedule. The time it takes to ship your car depends on distance and available routes to your place. The transport can be affected by weather or other factors that cannot be controlled by a transporter such as unanticipated construction work. On average, a transport trip from one area to other across the country usually takes one or two weeks.

To get an estimate of shipping cost of your car or bike, you should fill a quotation form. After receiving an estimate, you can ask for exact quote with duration of completing the transport. A professional transporter can also move your multiple vehicles at one time along the distance. So if you are moving with a family and have many cars you can get them moved simultaneously.

Shaker, a four piece band with over 125 years combined musical experience, has been together for over 9 years. They play Classic Rock from the 70’s to current, Blues, Country Rock and Rock. Song list includes many cover bands: CCR, U2, ZZ-top, Bad Company, Bryan Adams, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Dwight Yoakum, and Johnny Cash.

Three of the band members, Jamie Miles, Willie Sullivan and Jerry Thomas, have played in many bands with over 40 years experience each. The fourth member, Danny Sullivan, began when Shaker was formed, and is the feature of the group on many levels.

Jamie Miles, the drummer, began his music career while still in school and played in bands Dakota and Drifter at a very young age with a current Shaker member, Willie Sullivan. After that Jamie went on as drummer with several known bands, and did some touring for some years. A few of these bands were Fast Forward, Main Street and The Persuaders.

Danny Sullivan, the lead vocalist and lead-rhythm guitarist, is the youngest band member (son of Willie). His unique vocals enable him the ability to sing a huge range of songs. His stage presence adds a great dynamic to the band. Danny also does duets as singer and acoustic guitarist with other musicians. He can play various instruments, having started his musical interests as a young boy. He had a lot experience with sound before he joined Shaker.

Willie Sullivan, the rhythm- lead guitarist and vocalist, also played in many bands including Dakota and Drifter, Southern Heat, Flash Backs, and Scott Free. The last band, Scott Free, was with current Shaker member Jerry Thomas.

Jerry Thomas, the base guitarist, has played in several bands including Stretcher, Oak Hill, DYM, and Scott Free, to name a few. He brings many years of experience to the mix.

Shaker has a great sound and a funky feel, captivating the audience and keeping them dancing and partying all night. They are sure to draw you in. Their song list is well over 100. Check them out on YouTube as “Shaker Shore Club”!

  • WE ARE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCING THE DEMONSTRATION TO PROTEST THE GENERAL REGULATORY FRAMEWORK AROUND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTIONS

      Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 01:00 PM · 100 rsvps
Nova Scotia Legislature in Halifax , NS, Canada

We are invited to join communities from across Nova Scotia, to show our government we are all expecting to be heard.

Announcement of Coalition for Environmental, Social, Economic and Artistic Justice Demonstration.

Please only share with trusted allies on secure private sites or through direct messaging.

Urgent: Your participation and help are needed.

What: A demonstration will take place at the

Where: Nova Scotia Legislature, 1726 Hollis St on

    When: October 13th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why: to address the misuse and abuse of Nova Scotia resources and finances for short term profit for a few now, over long term protection for the many now and for generations to come.  This aggressive destruction of Nova Scotia’s environmental and economic sustainability has to be actively addressed in a broad and deep protest from the citizens of this province. To this end,

Who: Concerned Citizens of Nova Scotia and their supporters

How: Come with placards, banners, megaphones, props, costume, etc. to let the present government know that we do not accept their lack of action for protection of our natural ecosystems in the name of foreign and local non-environmentally healthy and sustainable corporations' profit. We do not accept their allocations of government and public resources to unbeneficial and especially foreign entities, while creating long term negative impacts to NS based industry and businesses.

Important: Please only tell those you trust unequivocally of this action but please do share vigorously with those you trust.

Please only share with trusted allies on secure private sites.

    RULES –

    1. Stay on the sidewalk
    2. No spilling onto the street
    3. NO stopping traffic
    4. Stop making noise when the Lieutenant Governor  arrives and leaves. A brass band will play.

All attendees are encouraged to bring their own signsStop Spraying in Nova Scotia to show we are more than one community, but also include a flip side slogan on the back of your sign, or use as an alternative – a series of which will provide clarity that we are united together and shows our demands.

Choose from any of the following:

    1. STOP POISONING US
    2. STOP IGNORING US
    3. STOP LYING TO US
    4. YOU WORK FOR US
    5. STOP FEEDING CORPORATE GREED
    6. SAFE AIR, SAFE WATER
    7. THIS IS OUR PROVINCE

The goal of this demonstration is to be inclusive, to bring everyone into the protest. Whatever you put out should provide a firm but friendly reminder that we are united in protecting our health, our safety, the environment, resource sustainability and democracy and the rights of all of us to live in this province free from harm.  The issues across Nova Scotia are not solely corporate profits vs environment. These actions by government have gone against the will of the people. This demonstration is a broad representation of groups and individuals supporting issues related to but not exclusively the following:

    - failing to adhere to the Precautionary Principle and legislation intended to provide protection for the public and their environment.

    - failure by the present provincial government to honour binding treaties with Mi'kmaq nations.

    - failing to provide meaningful consultation with indigenous and non-indigenous members of the public in all matters related to decisions that impact their health and social well-being.

    - failing to include protections in agreements with industry that protect the financial and social well-being of all Nova Scotians

    - subsidizing foreign based industry through accesses to crown resources and funding, while failing to provide health services, facilities and road infrastructure desperately needed in the province

    - contributing to the high cancer and respiratory illnesses affecting the people of Nova Scotia by failing to act on regulations

    - failing to act honourably by misleading and misinforming the public

    - failing to act on behalf of the citizens of Nova Scotia or in the public interest

    - contaminating and altering the ecosystem of the Shubenacadie River with salt brine to create caverns to store gas intended for markets elsewhere for corporate benefit -- Alton Gas

    - spraying glyphosate, a known carcinogen, combined with other toxic chemicals, on Acadian forests to kill hardwoods in order to encourage softwood growth for pulp (softwood does not absorb carbon the way hardwoods do or create habitat) -- Northern Pulp and Irving

    - clearcutting forests for biomass furnaces, an only 16% efficient process and biomass was not brought in to burn trees, just scrap.-- Brooklyn and Port Hawkesbury

    - failing to adhere to national plan to move away from fossil-fuel generated power by reopening coal mines -- Donkin

    - failing to support local businesses and industry by enforcing existing legislation -- Pictou, Guysborough, Aerotech

    - failing to protect citizens from harm, by ignoring experts and evidence at hand --Fall River, No Spray, Noel and Kennetcook

    - refusing to create fish passageway and other conditions conducive to protecting fish and other river flora and fauna -- Avon River

    - refusing to implement a fair, simple and inexpensive fee on carbon pollution as the federal government is mandating, with recycled revenue to the citizens in the form of dividends and protective allowances for rural industries.

    -  threatening fisheries/ the environment with tidal power technology without baseline studies with which to compare its effects -- Bay of Fundy and Minas Basin

    - threatening waters with offshore oil exploration and quadrupling of Bay of Fundy tanker traffic -- Energy East, Suncor, Esso, Shell, etc

    - expropriating private lands to accommodate foreign corporations in mining profiteering -- Black Point/Fogarty’s Cove, Moose River

    - failing to act on and prevent water contamination by industry – Harrietsfield, Williamswood, Boat Harbour

    - caving in to a foreign corporation to allow them to continue polluting Pictou County air and water--Northern Pulp

    - failing to protect the financial interest of Nova Scotians by obligating taxpayers to non-capped financial contracts and investing in foreign infrastructure and employment  -- Yarmouth Ferry

    - cancelling the Film Tax Credit after promising not to & destroying $180 million in revenue for Nova Scotia small business

    - failing to act fairly in providing and promoting opportunities in secondary education by removing tuition caps and subsidizing elite members in unnecessary ventures – MIT Nine

    - misuse of public funds for party promotional activities

    - using divisive and misleading information to promote select industry, using false statistics and ignoring facts.

    - decreasing funding to facilities for senior citizen care, mental health services and essential non-profits

    - supressing union rights and failing to intervene with a nine month long strike which has seen our daily record, The Chronicle Herald, severely weakened and ineffective democratically.

As previously stated, this list in not exclusive and may be amended to include and expand on any and all issues related to Environmental, Social, Economic and Artistic Justice.

Atlantic Gold Corporation is pleased to invite members of the public to attend an open house to review information on the planned start of construction of the permitted Touquoy Gold Mine and the commencement of the Environmental Assessment processes for the Beaver Dam Gold Mine.

These two gold deposits are part of Atlantic Gold's Moose River Consolidated Project. The mining of the Touquoy deposit will occur for approximately five years. If successfully permitted, the mining of the Beaver Dam deposit would follow for three to four years. Gold ore mined from Beaver Dam is proposed to be trucked to and processed at the Touquoy site using existing facilities.

We also want to update the community on the upcoming construction at the permitted Touquoy Gold Mine to prepare for ore processing to start in Fall 2017.
