Lacrosse Takes Over the Shore

By Thomas Scott The Eastern Shore Community Centre hosted half of the Metro Minor Lacrosse League championship games on July 9. Two Eastern Shore Breakers teams took home championships, the U15 A boys and the U15 female Breakers. Club president John Fry told the Cooperator that the championship games showed how much interest there is in the sport: "We had a great turnout," Fry said. "There were lots of people filling the rink."

U7 Hockey Jamboree Coming to the Harbour

With their families and friends in tow, ready to cheer them on, the Eastern Shore can expect over 2000 visitors.

VanWychen Wins Soccer Award

17-year-old Isaac VanWychen received the 2022 Male Youth Performance Player of the Year award at the Soccer NS Night of Excellence. VanWychen, who lives in Middle Musquodoboit, will be playing soccer this fall on a soccer scholarship at St. Francis Xavier University. He was a member of the NS Canada Games Soccer team that represented Nova Scotia at the Summer Canada Games in Niagara in August of last year. Van Wychen also plays table tennis and will be representing Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games in February 2023 as a Table Tennis athlete.

Second Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Wal

The second annual “Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Walk” will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1-3 pm hosted by SATA Trails Society. The festivities will be on the Gaetz Brook Greenway Trail from East Chezzetcook to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161 (3-4km). Rain date will be Sunday October 30, 2022. It’s an accessible event, open to people of all ages and their four-legged friends.

He discovered the surfing world in Lawrencetown, and it changed his life. "I was on track to engage in the architecture program,” Mathers said in a recent interview. “I decided that's not for me. I just took my creativity and applied it to my new-found love of surfing."
