The Nova Scotia Forest Festival will showcase the many ways Nova Scotians connect to the province's forests for their livelihood, housing, recreation, food, heritage and spirituality. In addition to showcasing how we connected to our forests in the past, the event will also highlight the importance the forest still holds for us today. Visitors will enjoy lumberjack sporting events like axe-throwing, a canoe ride around the pond, a ride on an ATV down a wooded path, maple syrup tasting, a variety of vintage hand tools including two functioning chainsaws from 1950, educational sessions on wilderness survival and forest ecology, as well as the quintessential Canadian experience of gathering around a campfire for stories and song.
