Mentoring Plus draws upon the skills and knowledge of retirees to help support youth 16+ and young adults ( Mature learners) to explore and connect to career paths related to the Future of Work, by Implementing Team Mentoring Initiatives. *
(Teams of retirees would be involved in initiative(s) related to careers and The Future of Work)*
This initiative is presently being developed in New Glasgow, Truro, Sydney and the Annapolis Valley.
A healthy lunch will be provided.

Hosted by Inspiring HOPE in partnership with P.A.U.S.E. Wellness Center. We will be hosting our first Thriver and Survivor meeting of 2019 from 3pm until 5pm at P.A.U.S.E wellness center on January 25th. We are looking forward to a relaxing afternoon of learning art journaling basics and a time to share our thoughts. A one day retreat for women photographers interested in moving from competition to community, collaboration and connection with one another. Hosted by DeeDee Morris & Women in Dharma.
To create community is to create resources, shared experience and knowledge, and to receive support.
9-10: introduction to the day, check ins
10-12:30- Panel discussion with Judith Brannen (artist), Nicole McInnis (OhDina!), Alyssa Kloet (Keephouse Designs) and Deedee Morris (photographer) on working through creative ruts and keeping inspired.
12:30-1:30- LUNCH -provided
1:30-3:30: Wide Open Heart, Wide Open Lens
3:30-5: Community connection, completion, and check out.
We'll gather together to share, learn, grow and create in a beautiful and inspiring space on Porters Lake with other women who share a passion for capturing beautiful imagery. Together, we will begin to cultivate an empowering community for female photographers.

Jim Henman, Halifax based singer/songwriter, April Wine Co-founder and Juno Hall Of Fame inductee will be playing an acoustic concert at the Old School on Saturday, Jan 26, at 7:30pm. Jim will be playing a few older tunes, tunes from his last three solo projects, telling some stories of his travels and songs, and he will be writing a song with the help of the audience. Bring your inner songwriter for some fun. Jim began writing songs with his house concert audiences 3 years ago and recorded one CD entitled House Plants with 10 songs started and completed with the collaboration approach.
