This month we are featuring "Put The Kettle On" : Vince Morash, James Crouse and Pixie Currie, Hosted by Jim Reid
Take a prolific singer/songwriter and a gifted musician and put them together with a stand up base player and fantastic repertoire of original songs and you get the perfect combination for any stage.
Vince Morash was raised in Nova Scotia’s iconic fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. His years in a seacoast village, combined with a life travels across Canada have given him a unique perspective. In his huge collection of original tunes, the subject matters varies from the challenges of making a living as a coffee shop server (CoraLee), to the reflections of parents of a fallen soldier ( When a soldier falls)and a myriad of themes in between. His songs are a reflection of everyday life and some can bring a tear to your eye, from sorrow or laughter.
As a musical partner, there are few musicians as versatile as James Crouse. His expertise on the guitar and vocal harmonies enhance any song like a breeze filling a sail on a schooner.
Pixie Currie will anchor the show with a steady up right base beat on some tunes and assist with harmonies on others.
After much laughter and wringing of hands from throwing around potential band names we have chosen the name “Put the Kettle On”,stolen unceremoniously from Ann Fearon’s song of the same name.
