ACADIAN DAYS FESTIVAL at L'Acadie de Chezzetcook!! AUG 13,14
Saturday August 13th
"Kitchen Party" in the Barn(on the balcony if the weather is nice). There will be live music in the evening, a cash bar, canteen, and BBQ. Following the festivities will be fireworks, set off in Grand Desert.
Sunday August 14th
Start the day with the annual French Mass at St.Anselm's church. After mass, come back to L'Acadie de Chezzetcook for an afternoon of fun! We will have live music, art displays and traditional Acadian demonstrations such as rug hooking and scythe cutting to keep you entertained. For the kids, there will be games, crafts, face painting and a bouncy castle! We will also be having a pie eating contest and a clam shucking contest. Steamed clams and burgers will be available for purchase. You won't be able to resist the smell of the treats at our bake sale table, or the smell of the homemade bread cooking in our outdoor, clay oven. Bread will be auctioned off after the demonstration.
Don't forget to take a tour of the museum while you are there! Check out our new display in the Welcome Center, focused on the Acadians ties with the surrounding Chezzetcook community. And bring the kids over to the chicken coop to meet our French hens! Spread the word and we will see you there! Admission is $3/person or $10/family with 2 or more kids.
