SeaLight SkyLight Festival

The Deanery Project"s sixth annual SeaLight SkyLight Festival takes place around the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, which coincides with an abundance of bioluminescence in Ship Harbour. Join us as we celebrate these two spectacular natural phenomena with science, art and story.
The program runs 7:30 -11:30 pm August 11th, and 2:30-11:30 pm August 12th.
Night sky presentations and performances include: Shalan Joudry, Mi’kmaw ecologist/storyteller; Dr. Stephen Payne (Planetarium, Dalhousie University and Hope for Wildlife.
Inspiring musical performances by Anna Stewart, Jacques Mindreau, Jhamiela Smith Dunn, North Street Straw Band, Open Borders, Ostrea Lake, Super Fluid as well as visual artists Jupiter MVV, Stephanie Rybczyn.
This is a family friendly, all ages (rain or shine) event. Folks are encouraged to bring a blanket and binoculars for better viewing pleasure. Laughing Crow Foods, Dobbit Bakehouse and Sober Island Brewing Co will be offering food service from 3-7 on Sunday only.
