safeTALK: Suicide Alertness for Everyone
Saturday, February 9, 2019, 9-noon
Brought to you by The Old School Community Gathering Place
Instructor: Angela Davis
safeTALK is a half-day alertness training that prepares anyone 15 or older, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. Participants will learn four basic steps to recognize persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them with suicide helping resources.
All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.
Call 902-889-2735 to register or email [email protected].
This workshop is free for participants thanks to funding from Communities Culture and Heritage however registration is required.
