Ken Vaughan and I decided last year that it would be a great idea to have a “Meet an Artist” program so the community could hear artists speak about the inspirations and influences behind their art.
Ken agreed to be the first artist and he presented an excellent slide show showcasing his work on March 6th, 2024.
Since then Gerri Frager, Bill Langley, Iris Patterson, Eric MacArthur, Marlene York, Ed Huner, and Minaz Jantz have made amazing presentations. We learned about carving, painting, and pottery.
I have immensely enjoyed organizing these events but have decided it is time for someone with fresh contacts and experience to take it over.
I want to thank all of the artists who spent their time and energy to present at Meet an Artist. I also want to give a big shout out to Sarah Burchill and the Musquodoboit Library staff for all of their support from providing the room to putting the information on their website, and Richard Bell and the Cooperator for publishing Meet an Artist events.
