Dear Editor,
I recently read an article in your paper titled, "Where Can I Find Resources for Mental Health" by Karen Bradley. I wanted to comment on this article as it was rather misleading. It stated that Raylene MacDonald was the only Community Mental Health Nurse for the tri-facilities area, which is not true.
Raylene MacDonald is the Senior's Mental Health Community Mental Health Nurse for the area, but she is not the only Community Mental Health Nurse in the area.
We also have myself, who attends at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital as well as at Twin Oaks as a Community Mental Health Nurse within the adult mental health system.
We have a Community Mental Health Nurse, Carol Sullivan Nelson, who attends at Middle Musquodoboit as well as a MSW, Shauna Stuart, who also attends at Middle Musquodoboit.
We also have an MSW with addictions services who attends at all three locations (she is currently off with illness but there is some coverage still available in Sheet Harbour and Musquodoboit Harbour).
We all work out of Cole Harbour Community Mental Health. We also have two psychiatrists and a GP in psychiatry who works with us in these areas.”
Karen Neville
