Good news for ice cream lovers! Roz Staple, the owner of the Polar Bear Express Ice Cream stand, has reopened her business. We were able to reach Staple by email about her business.
Staple said that getting ice cream is now a two-window operation. “Our employees have dedicated tasks, one dealing with orders and cash, and the other scooping,” Staple explained. “Customers order from the front window and pay, and then proceed to the pick-up window on the side of the building to get their ice cream”.
Staple says that they’re working to ensure that everyone can stay safe, starting by “serving all ice in bowls to limit contact.” Seating will not be available to discourage social gatherings. Flavours will also be limited, but Staple says she hopes to have favourites.
As the weather starts to warm up, you can get a nice bowl of ice cream to enjoy the new freedoms we are getting. Staple says she’s just glad she can “try to bring a smile to your face and a sweet treat to hopefully brighten your day.”
