Dear Editor:
A great Town Hall Meeting regarding the health care crisis on Eastern Shore was held today (May 5) at the Lions Centre in Sheet Harbour!
It was organized and chaired by Senator Tom McInnis. Many audience members voiced their insight into many challenges facing our community.
A Health Care Board has been convened with volunteer representatives from every community from East Ship Harbour to Ecum Secum to address the many challenges that were voiced.
They will meet for the first time in approximately two weeks. The terms of reference are being written in the mean time.
I think everyone had a good feeling that finally something is happening in our community by community members to address our health care problems and to take back control of our health care.
I say 'Well done' and 'Thank You' to everyone who attended today, and especially to the many community members who volunteered to be Board representatives.
Thank you Senator Tom McInnis for getting the ball rolling on this important matter and your continued guidance and participation on many issues in our community
