Flowers, art, and sipping tea, is a perfect combination! This year, the annual Petals and Paint event at the Old School has been extended to two days; Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14th, from 12 to 5.
On Saturday, people interested in participating in the flower show can drop off their garden bouquets from 9-11 AM to win fabulous prizes in the People’s Choice contest! Then, come to view the flower show from 12 to 5 on Saturday or Sunday and vote for your favourite bouquet. Winners will be announced at 3 pm Sunday.
The fancy tea fundraiser to benefit The Old School will be held 12:30 until 3:30 on Saturday the 13th. Treats and a traditional tea service is $10. Reservations are recommended for the fancy tea, but not required.
Flower garden art activities for the whole family will be featured from 1-3 on Sunday, July 14. Check The Old School web page for the schedule of art activities. Free activities will be offered by local artists, with something for all ages. Be inspired by the flowers and create something to take home!
Local artists are invited to bring in small inspirational interpretations of flowers or garden themes, to display over the two-day event. Art should be free standing or have a table easel and may be offered for sale. As well, a lovely flower painting donated by Joseph LeBlanc will be raffled on Sunday, as part of the Old School fundraiser.
For tea reservations, or for more information on how to participate in the art or flower displays for Petals and Paint, contact The Old School 902-889-2735.
