By Stephanie Parrish, Hope for Wildlife
The Hope for Wildlife Annual Open House event has been taking place for more than 20 years.
Each year, we invite everyone for a behind-the-scenes look at everything it takes to run a wildlife rehabilitation centre
At the beginning, when our rehabilitation centre was just one red barn and the old farmhouse, our first Open House event was about 40 people - over the years it has slowly grown into an average of 4000 people! Although these first Open House events were small, they were an intimate experience for our supporters, and you always gave generously to our largest fundraiser of the year.
The COVID-19 Pandemic shut down this event for the past few years. This September, we want to welcome more of you than ever to visit our facilities and team members. Come see our drop-off centre, fully certified wildlife hospital, marine units, flight cages, Intensive Care Units, the Fenton Farmhouse, Reid's Roost, the Bobcat Unit, Solar farm and more! Climb our 45-foot tower to see beautiful views of Seaforth and the ocean.
Visit us on September 10th from 12pm-4pm and reunite with friends old and new – furry and friendly! We can’t wait to see you all again and show you what we’ve been up to.
Admission is always free – we will host local art and music, and– introduce you to some amazing local creatures.
September 10th 12pm-4pm; 5909 Highway 207 in Seaforth.
We can’t wait to see you.
