Meeting on Future of ESDH Building

On May 13, 202, MLA Kent Smith and Brendan Maguire, Minister of Advanced Education and Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, held a public meeting at the Rink to discuss the future of the Eastern Shore District High building. Smith announced that despite having shown interest in the building, NSCC had notified him that NSCC was no longer interested in the building.The first two videos deal with ESDH. The shorter 3rd video deals with Smith's interest in using Gaetz Brook Junior High as a temporary home for the students at l'École des Beaux Marais while the province constructs a replacement for the current Beaux Marais building in Porters Lake.

Smith, Maguire, and HRM Councillor David Hendsbee talked about other posibilities for the building, and responded to suggestions and questions from the audience. Margo Hudson told Magure she had been asking for the last 3 years for his department to provide its data on the state of the building. Maguire promised that he would deliver this data to Smith and the public so that the community could have the necessary info to explore other options.
