Steve Giles retired from Canada’s canoe/kayak team in 2004 after the Athens Olympics but is still gathering titles! Steve was just named to Nova Scotia’s Top 15 athletes in Nova Scotia sport history, coming in at #9.
Giles participated in 4 Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004) winning bronze in the Canoe – 1000m event at the 2000 Olympics held in Sydney Australia and top 9 finishes in the other 3. Steve has also won 2 Gold medals at the Worlds and Pan American Games, Silver at the Pan Americans games, and Bronze medals at both the Junior and Senior Worlds,
Giles was a member of Orenda Canoe Club in Lake Echo in his youth.
