The second annual “Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Walk” will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1-3 pm hosted by SATA Trails Society. The festivities will be on the Gaetz Brook Greenway Trail from East Chezzetcook to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161 (3-4km). Rain date will be Sunday October 30, 2022. It’s an accessible event, open to people of all ages and their four-legged friends.
If you want to set up a “treat station”, the deadline to show interest is October 15, 2022. Running a treat station includes providing a site set up, treats. and people to hand out the treats. Treats don’t have to be candy, get creative! We are asking stations to prepare for minimum of 2,000 items for the trick or treater(s).
SATA Trails Society and some volunteer community members thought it would be nice to have a fun, safe, family orientated community event which also promotes active living in our community and the use of the Gaetz Brook Greenway Trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail. This is a free event and is the product of donations from businesses and individual community members. We estimate that last year’s event had 1000 participants dressed in costumes having fun while trick-or-treating on the trial. Based on community interest so far, we are expecting to double last year’s turnout.
Please be respectful of the people living along the trails by staying on the trail and not to venture off on private property or park in such a way as to obstruct driveways.
