After a 2-year break, the Surfside Studio tour is returning to Highway 207. Local artists are preparing to again welcome visitors for this third running of this popular event, happening Saturday, October 1, from 10:00 to 5:00.
The real magic of this tour is the concentration of artists in such a small area. Organizers are anticipating that 15 to 20 artists will open their homes and studios to offer a rare look at their creative process. Each artist will have a variety of work on display, and many will be conducting demonstrations of their work and tools, or providing lessons and hands-on experiences.
The tour will span 25 kms along one of the most scenic routes in the province, passing through the scenic seaside communities of West and East Lawrencetown, Three Fathom Harbour, Seaforth, Grand Desert, and West Chezzetcook. The short distance of the route allows you to cover the full length at a relaxed pace. In past years, some even chose to do their tour on bicycles.
There are several places to stop for a bite along the tour route, including La Cuisine de Brigette at the Acadian Museum, The Rose and Rooster in Grand Desert, the Lawrencetown Beach Café at the MacDonald House, and the Seaforth Country Store in Seaforth.
