Narrows 9 Dragons will be launching their three 40-foot-long Dragon Boats into Porters Lake again this summer, opening on May 5.
Trevor Marshall, owns Narrows 9 Dragons, told the Cooperator that he was happy to be opening with the lifting of Covid restrictions. “Anyone can paddle in a Dragon Boat,” Marshall said. “We can put up to 20 people in a boat, and we’ll be open evenings and weekends. We’re even looking at special times for seniors this year.”
Marshall said he was especially excited about the Annual Porters Lake Dragon Boat Festival on June 25 which will be supporting the Nova Scotia Fire Fighters’ Burn Treatment Society. The Society, which began in 1983, contributes to immediate and on-going care of burn survivors.
Marshall is a former Canoe-Kayak National Team Coach and current Training Officer for HRM Fire. Fitness has always been a priority in his life.
