The RCMP is investigating a break-in and vandalism at the Orenda Canoe Club in Lake Echo sometime overnight Easter Sunday into Monday. The Club is in the middle of a large-scale renovation to add a second floor and double the size of the original building’s footprint. With a presentation before the HRM Standing Committee on Transportation at the end of March, MusGo Rider took another step towards establishing a Fixed Loop Transit Service along Highway 207. The proposed 40km loop would run from Porter’s Lake Terminal along Highway 207 to the terminal in Portland Hills, with a connection to Cole Harbour Place.

The Provincial Government has granted Cermaq Canada, a fully owned subsidiary of the giant Japanese industrial company Mitsubishi, four options to lease sites in the Chedabucto Bay and St Mary’s region for Marine based Fish Farms. BUT this is just the start. The company hopes to obtain about 20 salmon farm licenses in Nova Scotia.
