Premier Justin Trudeau has just proposed wasting billions of our hard-earned tax dollars to nationalize the Kinder-Morgan pipeline, one of the most environmentally destructive projects in Canadian history. Trudeau knows that climate change is creating a global crisis. And he knows full well that the only way to reduce the danger of this crisis is to leave most of the remaining fossil fuels in the ground.

Sheet Harbour Radio hosted an Open House on April 28 at their online radio station headquarters, located at Gammon's Home Hardware. Visitors got to view the office and receive a tour of the equipment that the students use to broadcast Sheet Harbour radio around the clock.

Years ago the BBC did a series of historical documentaries (Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm, and Wartime Farm) which recreated everyday life on an English farm. I was totally captivated by the daily routines of those bygone eras. The animal husbandry and farming, building materials and techniques, clothing, equipment, and, especially, the food were all wonderfully fascinating.

The weekend of April 20th Halifax welcomed over three thousand Liberals from across Canada to our city for their biennial policy convention. Personally, I have never been to one of these conventions, so it was a very new experience for me. This year marks the first time that the Liberals’ convention has been has been held in Atlantic Canada. As the next federal election is just under a year away, and they are just on the heels of their success in the 2015 win, the Liberals were pleased to receive their best turnout ever, as well as the youngest convention ever.
