Hannah Kent will be taking a major step forward in her lacrosse career in the fall of 2021, when the 17-year old joins Niagara University’s Purple Eagles women’s lacrosse team. Niagara offered Kent a scholarship to play in the U.S. National Collegiate Athletic Association’s top college division, and she is committed to the 2022 season.

Three residents of Musquodoboit Harbour have joined together to file a Notice for Judicial Review with the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia challenging the decision by the Nova Scotia Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development and the Nova Scotia Minister of Transportation to locate the proposed school combining Eastern Shore District High and Gaetz Brook Junior High in the East Chezzetcook Industrial Park.

COVID-19 hit everyone in a multitude of life-changing ways, and Food Banks have been working harder than ever to keep communities together. Between February and June 2020, unemployment in Nova Scotia grew from 7.8% to 13%. Many people in need are visiting the Food Bank for the first time. At the same time, fear of the virus has kept others at home.
